Project Engineer

NCC Green Industry Transformation SSAB Project, Luleå

Do you want to work at the heart of one of Sweden's most complex and fastest-growing industrial projects – where structure, pace, and coordination are crucial for success?

As a Project Engineer at NCC Green Industry Transformation, you will play a central role in supporting the technical organization in a project characterized by a high rate of change, many parallel workflows, and large information flows.

This is the role for you if you thrive in an environment with a startup feel, where much is happening simultaneously and where you make a real difference by creating order, progress, and clear communication.

About the role of Project Engineer
In this role, you will work closely with the technical department and the project's engineers, focusing on data coordination, administrative support, and follow-up. You will act as a cohesive link between teams, systems, and other parts of the project organization and contribute to ensuring that information, status, and documentation are managed in a structured and correct manner.

You will support the project in a fast-paced environment where new questions arise continuously, and your ability to gather, structure, and follow up on information is crucial for the project's progress.

The role also involves close collaboration with other departments within the project, and you will become a natural point of contact for coordination and information issues.

Examples of tasks

  • Support the technical department with coordination, follow-up, and distribution of project data
  • Manage and compile status from multiple teams related to bidding work
  • Administrative support before and during bidding processes
  • Assistance with categorizing outcomes from internal and external workshops (e.g., risk workshops, process workshops)
  • Work in and structure information in the project's system environments
  • Ensure functioning communication flows between different parts of the project
  • Some management and follow-up of finance-related documentation

Your profile as a Project Engineer
We are looking for someone with work experience, around 5 years or more, who feels comfortable in a role where the structure is not always fully established from the start. You have likely worked in project environments with many stakeholders and are used to taking responsibility, creating order, and driving things forward. You have experience with systems, preferably from SharePoint and/or Aconex. You are fluent in English, both spoken and written.

You may have a background as:

  • Project Engineer in construction or industry
  • Engineer, project manager, or an administrative role within a larger organization
  • Economist or technical role with a strong administrative and coordinating aspect

Industry experience is an advantage but not a requirement – the right attitude and ability are the most important.

We believe you are:

  • Organized, meticulous, and structured
  • Proactive, curious, and driven
  • Comfortable working with systems and digital tools
  • At ease taking a coordinating role and driving communication

Desirable experiences:

  • Experience in project administration, data coordination, or financial follow-up
  • Experience from startup environments or projects in early stages
  • Knowledge of contractual aspects
